Shirley Mae Davis also know as “The Hill” was born October 27, 1932 to Charles Fields and Emma (Smiley) Fields in Pittsburgh, PA. Shirley was the sixth of their seven children.
Shirley grew up in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh and spent several of her teenage years in Brooklyn, New York and many years in Detroit, MI as an adult. Shirley attended Allegheny Community College studying psychology. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and most recently doing adult coloring books. Shirley took an art class while in her 50’s and discovered she was a talented artist, creating paintings using watercolors, acrylic, and pencil/chalk.
Shirley’s most cherished memories are from spending time with family and friends. This included her six children: Tonya Davis, Andrea Davis, Thomas Davis, James Davis, Brian Davis, and Leslie Davis along with 18 grand children and a multitude of great-grandchildren, and friends.
