Steven Marshall Obituary

Steven went to his heavenly home on Monday, October 12, 2020.  He was preceded in death by both his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Sarah Marshall, and his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Luvenia Gibson. He was also preceded in death by his only aunt Vivian J. Clay-Williams and cousin Kyle L. Clay.

Steven was born with a big smile on January 13, 1972 in Cheverly, MD to Samuel and Darlene Marshall.  He was the first of three sons. His friendly, easygoing demeanor brought many people joy over the years. Steven received his formal education from the Prince George's County School system.  He graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 1990.  He then went on to complete 3 years of college at Bowie State University.  At the time of his passing, Steven was employed by Honeywell in Beltsville, MD.  He was an ambitious worker, dedicated to rising in the company's ranks.

Always amiable and welcoming, Steven got along with all types of people. Even when mad or stressed he showed no malice in his interactions with others.  He was his family's calming influence. Steven was a curious, independent thinker, often researching political and entertainment conspiracies. He took joy in presenting his family with his findings- taking after his grandfather Samuel, Steven enjoyed connecting with family through good discussions. While Steven frequently took different positions than his family on the various topics, his responses during friendly debates were never hostile - just a smile.

Notoriously, Steven had an affinity for buying things for the family. Whether channel surfing on QVC, or surveying the newest addition to Bowie Town Center, Steven collected shoes, hats, cookware, electronics, and every new gadget. Perhaps his favorite purchases were paraphernalia for his favorite team- the Raiders, who he loved from Oakland to Las Vegas. He took great pleasure in being a big brother to Reggie and Brent. After his brothers came his cousin Taelor, who stole his heart from birth.  He loved being an uncle to Sabrina, Reginald Jr. and Braylon.  He spoiled them all with his love and presents.

Steven is survived by his parents, Samuel and Darlene Marshall,  his brothers, Reginald Sr. and Brent (Monique), his niece, Sabrina Marshall, nephews Reginald Jr. and Braylon, two special cousins, Karen and Taelor Clay, his godfather Philip Hebron (Mary),  one great aunt, Juanita Vivian Dilworth, and many other relatives and friends.
