Teah Smalls Obituary

Teah Dee Seals was born on July 20th, 1984, the first of three children to James Myier Seals and the late Terry Lynn Reddix-Seals in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Teah received her formal education from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) graduating from Montgomery Blair High School class of 2002. After Teah went on to study at Clark Atlanta University. Later, she started working at Wachovia (which later changed to Wells Fargo) as a Bank Administrator, kicks tarting a 15 + year career in banking.

In 2005, Teah D. Seals became Teah D. Smalls when she wedded her former husband W. Smalls in Silver Spring, Maryland. During their union they resided in Delaware and South Carolina. She later moved back to her Silver Spring home and went on to have one child in 2009, Xaiver Theodore-Anthony Smalls, before divorcing W. Smalls in 2012.

Teah was a devoted Mother to her son Xaiver. She made motherhood look easy even while doing it on her own. She strived to provide Xaiver with the best, while encouraging him to ALWAYS do his best. Raising a neurodiverse child can be difficult but Teah gave her all and supported the neurodivergent community while doing it. Teah served in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), in addition to being a leader in Singer Needs- a Special Needs school community group that provides events, resources, etc. for students and families with special needs at Xaiver' s former school, Flora Singer Elementary alongside Kara Tymon. She also contributed to the NAACP, Open Door Sports (ODS), Montgomery County Special Olympics and much more.

During her free time she enjoyed quality time with family & friends, attending concerts/festivals, watching movies, listening to music, dancing and having a glass of wine.

Teah was also BIG on FAMILY . Besides being a Mother, she was a devoted Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin and lastly an amazing friend.

Teah helped take care of her mother Terry Lynn Reddix Seals, then later her grandfather Emory Elwood Reddix 'til their last breath in 2015 & 2019.

Teah also called her Grandma Eula Mae Seals EVERY morning, most mornings her Coworkers heard Teah saying, "Okay Grandma, I'm at work now, I'll talk to you later. Love you." as she walked into work. Teah was also a great big sister and at times a second mom to her younger siblings James Anthony-Tyler Seals and Niya Lynn Seals.

She always came up with cool ideas or experiences to enjoy with her nephews, nieces and family.

Teah cared dearly for her family and friends, she was the ultimate organizer/planner, cheerleader, confidant and so much more. Teah would always be a phone call or text away, to support or help with whatever was needed.

Whether that was organizing a party, a trip, sending a heartfelt card for any and every occasion, supporting an event, or a simple phone call to vent. She was there.
