I, Vaughn Roland Villafana, was born in Trinidad and Tobago on August 8, 1972, into a loving Christian family where I learned to be caring toward others. As a youth, I loved to go to Christian Camp every summer and bring all of my friends to learn about Jesus Christ. By the age of 15, I became the worship leader of a local Pentecostal church in my hometown of Valencia. Desiring to share my love for Christ in helping others, I volunteered in Christian counseling, in hopes of being an example of leadership among my peers. While working in my family’s small auto parts business, I developed a life-long love for entrepreneurship.
While in Trinidad, I worked at the airport before migrating to the United States, where I joined the United States Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman. During this time, I joined a local church fellowship in San Diego, California, and became part of the College Worship Team. This is where I met the love of my life, Candice Whitley, who became my wife. As a couple, we moved to Maryland and began a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. We joined a local church, where I became a Deacon, while raising our five children to know and follow the ways of the Lord.
In Maryland, I enjoyed working as a Microbiologist at the Naval Base in Bethesda, Maryland and was honorably discharged to continue in the same field as a civilian. Due to my love for entrepreneurship, I pursued business ownership, establishing various successful businesses over the years. I founded a company that allowed me to travel around the globe, training others and helping them to be successful in their businesses. Candice and I enjoyed 25 wonderful years of marriage before we were called and ordained into ministry, and I became Senior Pastor of Latter Rain Ministries, Inc., also known as, Rain Church.
I love and cherish my family and friends and celebrate life with my wife and best friend, Candice Villafana, my children, John Villafana, Candie Seales, Brittney Villafana, Brandon Villafana, and Venice Villafana, in addition, my grandchildren, Jaden Villafana, Christopher Seales, Collin Seales, Pryce Smith, and Esther Seales. Moreover, my mother Lynette Villafana, my father and stepmother Roland and Evette Villafana, sister Vanessa Whatley, stepsister Christine Fletcher, and all of my nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family and friends.
