Zelma Ardell Young

Zelma Ardell Bieard Ragsdale Young, affectionately known as "Z", was born in Springfield, MA, on October 30, 1943 and transitioned peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. She was a long-time resident of Silver Spring, MD. 

Z was a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, the latter of which she took great pride. She is the second of five children and is preceded in death by her mother, significant other, sister, two brothers, and her son. She is survived by one sister, two first cousins, five children, 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandbabies.

Her laugh, her stories, and her requests for Coca-Cola and Hershey's chocolate will truly be missed & lovingly remembered.
