Barbara Ann McEwan

Barbara Ann McEwan, age 82, a long-time resident of Darnestown, Maryland passed away peacefully on September 19, 2018.

Barbara was born on April 25, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts where she spent her formidable years until she married.  As a ‘Boston girl at heart’ she found herself raising her family not in her beloved hometown but as a military wife in different places around the world including California, Japan and the Philippines before eventually settling in Maryland.

Barbara was the wife of the late Robert Roger McEwan with whom she loved spending time traveling and dividing time between their homes in Darnestown, Maryland and Almuñécar, Spain. They also shared a passion for community theater and enjoyed many productions on stage as members of the Montgomery Players. 

Barbara was a devoted and loving mother and is survived by three of her four children from her first marriage to Thomas Pender: John Pender (wife Arlene), Susan Pender and Thomas Pender (wife Elizabeth). She is pre-deceased by her son, Paul Pender. Barbara greatest source of pride was her family and being "Grammy" to her 5 beautiful grandchildren: Matthew Pender, Nicole Pender, Samantha Pender, Victoria Pender and Sydney Pender. 

Barbara’s warm and loving smile will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
