Blossom Bradley Obituary

Blossom Grace Patricia, daughter of the late Willie Chin Quee and Ida Iris Chen, the 13th child of 17 siblings was born in Alley, Clarendon, Jamaica on August 10, 1944. On March 17, 2019, in her hometown of Olney, Maryland, God gave Blossom, affectionately known as “B”, her wings and she is now peacefully resting in her heavenly home.

Blossom grew up in Alley and received her formal education there. In 1959, she met and married her teenage love, Trevor Anthony Chuck. In the late 1960s, Blossom and Trevor sought a new life and new opportunities by migrating to the Washington, DC area. Shortly after their migration, Trevor passed away in 1971. With the help of her loving and supportive family, Blossom persevered and gained work as a Clerk Typist for the American Finance Corporation in Silver Spring, MD. During her tenure at AFC, Blossom met her second husband, the late John Bradley.

Blossom decided to switch careers, so she furthered her education by attending and graduating from Nursing School in 1979. She served dutifully in the Mother-Baby Unit at Holy Cross Hospital until her retirement in late 2005.

Blossom was a member of Aspen Hill Christian Church in Silver Spring, MD. She was also a member and volunteer with the Jamaican Nationals Association.

Blossom loved to dance, listen to music, cook for her loved ones and she enjoyed nature. Her favorite past times were crossword puzzles, reading Western and thriller novels, and watching wrestling and National Geographic.

Blossom was known for her kindness, patience and gracious spirit. She was a loving person and was always willing to help and support others. She cherished quality time with her love ones.

Blossom was preceded in death by her husband’s Trevor Chuck and John Bradley; and her beloved daughter Carolyn Simms. Those who live on to cherish her memory are her loving children Christopher (Dawn) Chuck, Camille (Eddie) Ellis, Roxanne (James) Earnest, and Michelle Bradley; her loving 13 grandchildren, Trevor Chuck, Donovan Reddick, Bill Earnest, Ashley (Sarah) Earnest, Jamiah White, Danielle Cain, Dialne Chuck, Donisha (James) Blackwell,  Kaylee  Temple,  Brandon  Chuck,  Jermaine  White,  Jayson  Earnest   and   Eddie Ellis III; 2 great-grandsons, Ayden Earnest and Zackary Cain; 2 great-granddaughters, Nova Lee Chuck and Violet Bradley; 2 sisters, Dolly Hue Fah and Olive (Stanley) Yapp;        6 brothers, Richard Chin, Norman Chin, Baron Chin, Patrick Chin, Paul (Rosie) Chin, Dennis (Alicia) Chin.
