Howard Charles " Buck" Clipper was born to the late Albert W. and Helen S. Clipper on August 30, 1940. Also known as " Uncle Bubba " to his nieces and nephews. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Howard received his early childhood education at the Hilltop School in Sandy Spring, Maryland. Then after, he worked on the farm with his father and siblings. Howard later held various jobs and his last employment he worked as an engineer at hotels in the Washington, D.C. area. On July 10, 1981, he married the love of his life Dianne Hamilton and resided in D.C.]
After his wife died, years later he moved to the country (Sandy Spring, Maryland) with his niece Helen Kelly for several years. During his stay he suffered a mild stroke and was moved to the Manor Care Nursing Home in Silver Spring, Maryland. His daughter Brenda unselfishly cared for her father while in the nursing home along with his sister Patricia, and niece Helen. His brother Harry Benny was his " brother' s keeper." He also cared for his brother on a regular basis. Even when "Buck" was having a bad day, his brother would patiently wait until he settled down to assist him with his daily needs. Howard loved music, dancing, boxing, and eating an assortment of soul food and sweets. During his stay at the nursing home when the family held birthday parties for him, it was nothing for him to take a swing to a song he was familiar with. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves to mourn his devoted daughter Brenda Rice, and Annette Hamilton. One son-in-law, Joey Rice; four granddaughters, Shirley and Jasmine Clipper, Alicia McCollum (Cal vin) and Shaneka Allen (Rod); six great grandchildren, Natalie and Brooklyn Clipper, Callie Callah, Kevin Mccollum, Leah Allen, and Leanna Allen; one sister, Patricia Clipper; one brother, Harry Clipper; two sisters -in-law, Elsie Clipper and Ella Clipper; one brother -in-law, John Keeter; two aunts, Harriet Clipper and Gladys Clip per. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Diane Hamilton; daughter Bertha Bright; three brothers, Leroy, Albert and Ray Clipper; four sisters, Helen Thomas, Mary Keeter, Bernice Kingsburg and Mary Mason; and one great grandson, Calvin Mccollum, Jr .
