Robby was born, James R. Gregg, Jr., on July 29, 1961 and died abruptly on December 17, 2018 after a brief illness. He was the first of two children of the union between Edith (neé Jackson) and James R. Gregg, Sr. He was reared in Rockville, Maryland graduating from Magruder High School in Rockville, MD and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.
In the early 1990’s Robby moved to Washington, District of Columbia to begin his career in championing for equal quality of life and respect for all individuals, a mantle that he wore proudly and a vocation/calling which he affirmed, personally. Robby traveled the country and the world as an observer and absorber of positivity. He enjoyed the arts and collected pieces that spoke to him and brought him joy.
Robby’s sudden transition leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. A memorial tribute will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Human Rights Campaign in DC.
