Phyllis departed this life peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Med Star Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Phyllis was preceded in death by parents, her daughter, Sharon Lorraine Carroll and her brother Edwin Harriday.

Phyllis grew up in Sandy Spring, Maryland and attended Sandy Spring Elementary and graduated from Sherwood High School. She worked for the Federal Government (twice), Montgomery County Public Schools and most recently at H & R Block.

Phyllis met and married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Louis Carroll Sr. on January 22, 1966 and resided in Sandy Spring, MD. Phyllis was always willing to lend a helping hand even though she would fuss while doing it. She was our cookout paper product supplier. She was always taking care of others and adopting them as her own. She loved watching the westerns and the judge shows. She enjoyed hanging out with his lifelong friends, Ethel Johnson, Beverly Love and a cousin who was like a sister, Louise Darden. She loved laughing and joking with her nieces, Michele and Charisse Harriday.
