Edward Arthur Boswell, Jr. aka Eddie, passed from this life into eternal rest on Monday, June 8, 2020. Eddie was born on March 13, 1960 in Washington, DC, to the late Edward Sr. and Agnes Boswell.
Eddie was educated in the District of Columbia Public School system. He worked at Center Supply Company (Center Hardware) for many years until he was injured in 1993. Against all odds given a diagnosis to never walk again, he beat those odds. Eddie went on to start his own business as a General Carpenter providing quality service and care to the DMV. If it was broke, he could fix it!
He was a long-time resident of DC and was the creator of the 8th & Gallatin Streets, N.E. July 4th neighborhood celebration. He was a grill master and loved feeding any and everybody. He would give his last to anyone in need. If you knew Eddie, you had a nickname. He gave everyone that was close to him a special name. Even when his health began to fail, he’d push through his pain to help others. Most importantly he gave his life to Christ.
Eddie never married nor had any biological children, but he was a father, uncle and mentor to his nieces and nephews. Eddie is survived by his three sisters; Lorraine Epps, Deirdre Savoy, Valerie McRae; a devoted brother-in-law, Wayne Savoy, Sr. He had 2 nephews, 4 nieces, 3 great-nephews, 6 great-nieces and a host of other family members and friends.
