Celebrating the Life of Gregorio Buitrago Sr.

Gregorio Sr. went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2023 at the age of 67.

Born in Washington, DC, he grew up in Montgomery County, MD.

Gregorio Sr. was one of seven children born to the late Luis Buitrago and Martha M. Buitrago.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, their three children, Gregorio Jr., David, and Daniel, their spouses, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by five of his siblings, their spouses, numerous nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

In his early years he worked as a Commercial Property Manager and later established his own company as a General Contractor. For a few years in between he ventured into and enjoyed opening and running two restaurants. He took pride in his work and many of his customers became family friends from his integrity and genuine care.

He truly enjoyed coaching and “actively” attending the many different sports his children participated in while growing up. Even with a busy work schedule he always made sure he never missed a game.

He loved to travel nationally and internationally with his wife and children, and always enjoyed a yearly family beach trip to Ocean City, MD.

He loved hosting family and friends at home, and always strived to make everyone feel like family.

In his recent years he loved spending time and playing with his six grandchildren, who brought sweet, loving smiles to his face. He enjoyed his siblings’ visits, reminiscing on their childhood.

Gregorio Sr. is remembered for his deep love and dedication to his family, and for his generosity and genuine concern for family, friends, and even strangers he encountered.

Words can not adequately express how much he will be deeply missed.
