John Noland Obituary

John Augustus Noland, affectionately known as “Uncle Tom”, resided with his niece Michele in Germantown, MD (John formally lived in Rockville, MD), went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2020. He was born in Montgomery County, MD to the late parents Donald Noland and Elizabeth Adams.  He attended Montgomery County Public Schools. John worked for Waste Management from 1983 – 2019, which he also considered part of his family.

Uncle Tom loved and trusted God with his whole heart. He never complained about anything. He was truly a praying man. He not only spoke and shared God’s Word, he lived and walked God’s Word before others being an example, “even on his job”. Much respect was given him because of how he believed and lived for God. As for his niece, he was truly her example of unconditional Love.

Uncle Tom is survived by his brother, Joseph Noland, whom he loved and was able to spend the last few years with, especially this year for Joe’s birthday in Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Catherine Lee (Bernard), Anna Green (Kenneth), Elsie Genies (Calvin), Mary Moore (Obed) and Rosalie Baker (Leon); brothers, Donald Noland (Ethel), Chares Noland (Dorothy) and David Noland; and a host of nieces and nephews along with many greats.

He loved being of help to others, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, fishing and he enjoyed going to thrift stores and different places. He loved going for rides. He had a special supervisor-Dave, on his job who treated him like a brother along with his friend Teddy.
