Kevin Smith Obituary

Kevin Snowden Smith was born on April 17, 1964 and transitioned to eternal rest on September 17, 2019. Kevin spent his life in Olney, Maryland. He attended Olney Elementary School, Farquhar Middle School and Sherwood High School. He enjoyed all forms of sports.

Kevin was a kind and gentle soul. He loved a good conversation. He was also a master craftsman as evidenced by the walking stick he whittled, the fire pit he built from scratch which is dedicated to his parents and siblings, and the various barbeque pits he built from scratch. He was a family man who readily attended his children's and nieces’ and nephews’ events to offer support.

He married Karen Rendon in 1994. The loves of his life were born of this union, his three precious daughters, Danielle (Dani), Brianna (Bri) and Rebecca (Becca). He lived his life for his daughters. He taught them lifelong skills which will enable them to excel in life after he is gone. He taught them hunting, cooking, animal care skills as well as how to operate various machines, drive and most importantly, how to be nice, respectful and independent.

Kevin held various jobs throughout his life. He most enjoyed his last job where he operated heavy equipment for Pettit Development. He also enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends. Along with his daughters they created 'Bad Azz Barbeque'. They catered many events throughout the community.

Kevin is sorely missed already. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles 'Tank' and Phyllis Smith, and his sister, Brenda Bailey. He leaves to celebrate his life his daughters, Dani, Bri and Becca; nine siblings, Connie Williams, Audrey Bishop, Charles 'Pickle' Smith (Corinthia), Jeffrey Smith (Dena), Reginald 'Guppy' Smith, Deborah Buchanan, Kirk Smith (Martha), George Smith (Tracey), and Michael Smith (Jennifer). His many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him as well. His grand(goats), Chevy, Cookie Dough, Snowwhite, Oreo and Little Jay miss him like crazy. They look for him every morning, noon and night.

Kevin's wish is for you not to mourn, but to celebrate life.

If you see someone falling behind, walk beside them.

If you see someone being ignored, try to find a way to include them.

If someone has been knocked down, pick them up.

Always remind people of their worth.

One small act could mean the world to them.
