Lawrence Ingberg II Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Edward Ingberg, Age 61

Larry was born August 20, 1959 of the late Elaine Josephine (Uhing) Ingberg and Lawrence Edward "Ed" Ingberg Larry died suddenly at home on the evening of November 6, 2020

Larry attended Rocking Horse Rd. Elem. school, Randolph Jr. High school and Wheaton High School. He worked for many years as a store and warehouse manager at The Door Store before finding his vocation as a stair and handrail builder with Crown Stairs. When Crown Stairs was acquired by T.W. Perry, he became a valued member of their team until increasing medical conditions and two heart attacks forced his retirement in 2017.

Those who knew Larry appreciated his great sense of humor. Most recently, he laughingly remarked while watching the presidential campaign and debate coverage that; “Politicians must all be wearing asbestos panties or their pants would be on fire ALL THE TIME!!”

Larry tended to keep the friends he made even if he lost touch with them. They all remember him fondly. Larry enjoyed family gatherings where he could tease and entertain his nieces and nephews and encouraged them to tease him in return. He was a great sport when his nieces were small and he allowed them to bead and braid his beard and hair, polish his nails and make him look “beautiful”. He kept the nail polish until it wore off and just shortly dismissed inquiries as “I have 3 nieces”.

He is survived by sisters: Phyllis L. Gumphrey, Theresia M. Ingberg and Julie Ingberg Larrimore (Bob) and by brothers: Craig W. Ingberg and Edward L. Ingberg. Family members Doug, Donna and Janis. He is also survived by a very mischievous cat, Emmy.

Larry has several nieces and nephews: Clay (Danielle), Steven (Taylor)Thomas (Hilary), and John Gumphrey (Paige), Denise (Justus),Skye (Ian), and Katherine (Jason) McGahan, Aaron, Ray, Travis, Cody and Jenny Lee Ingberg. 2 grand-nieces and 2 grand-nephews as well as multitudes of cousins (75 or so) all over the country. Larry was the widower of the late Cheryl Ann Strate.

We will all miss him very much.
