Mary Elizabeth Adams

Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Henry and Laundry Moss, was born on June 16, 1920 in Virginia. She departed this life on November 11, 2021.

She was educated in the State of Virginia. While growing up in Virginia she met George Meadows. From this union was blessed with two children, Rosalee and George Jr. Relocating to Maryland she met and married the love of her life, Charles Adams (deceased). She was employed by the P. G. County Public School System, retiring from Cherokee Lane Elementary.

Mary was very active in Abyssinia Baptist Church and a long-time member of the Elks, alongside her husband Charles. She traveled the world and often marched in numerous parades. In addition to cooking for the church, she enjoyed many summers with her grand and greatgrandchildren picking berries and making preserves and cobbler. One of her hobbies was collecting all types of horse figurines that she reluctantly gave to her grand and greatgrandchildren after they would plead to have at least one. Everything she touched was by way of love, even when she instructed to pull your own switch from the tree for what she thought was a much-needed spanking. We can laugh at that now.

She gave her family and friends such wholesome loving memories. Mary Elizabeth leaves cherished memories to hold: her children Rosalee, George (wife Tina), bonus daughter Beverly, nine grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, beloved family and friends. She also embraced Beverly’s siblings as her own children and cherished memories with their children.
