Melvin Smith Obituary

Melvin W. Smith, Jr., peacefully departed this earthly life at his residence on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at the age of 79. He was born on January 30, 1941 to the late Melvin W. Smith, Sr., and Thelma King. He was the devoted husband to his wife Isbell Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory, five children: Jay Duvall, Gary Gray (Sherana), LaSheba Thompson (Darryl), Melvin “Rock” Smith, III and Kwame Smith; two step daughters: Ikea Warfield and Ashley Harris: 18 grandchildren; three brothers: Lawrence Smith (Patricia), Ellis Smith and Norman Smith (Candice) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Melvin was preceded in death by his siblings Scott, Gordon and Emerson and sister in law Barbara.
