Odell "Chubby," Williams was born on November 29, 1948, to the late Samuel J. Davis and Margaret E. Hopkins, in Washington, DC. Chubby was led to church early in life and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. On August 24, 2018, Chubby received his call from God to come home at the Bel Pre Health and Rehabilitation Center in Silver Spring, MD.
Chubby and his family lived in Kensington, MD in the community of Kengar. He attended Montgomery County public schools and graduated from Albert Einstein High School.
Chubby worked for Weis Market grocery store as the manager in the Seafood department. He later worked for Speedy Laundromat and Arby's. Chubby received a Certificate of Achievement from The Salvation Army, ARC for successfully completing the Adult Rehabilitation Program.
Chubby was an easygoing, simple, loving, caring brother and uncle. If you needed to talk to him, he would always listen. Chubby took life in stride, but his biggest joy was spending time with his nieces and nephews at the family cookouts, holiday gatherings and Ken-Gar community events. At any time, Chubby would always remind them of their place, telling them, "This is grown folks talking, and children go to their room."
Chubby enjoyed laughing, telling jokes, cooking, playing cards, going to casinos, and watching his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers. He also loved listening to gospel music on Sunday, cooking his special fried eggs "hot sauce and all" and playing Dominos! When he played Dominos and won, he'd ask you, "Who's your Daddy!
