Philemon Kwablah Nadutey

Philemon Kwablah Nadutey was born on June 18, 1953 to the late Job Kofifio Nadutey and Esther Leblu, both of Mepe, Ghana.

Philemon grew up in Mepe, Ghana where he attended the Mepe Roman Catholic Primary School. He continued his education at the Mepe Local Authority Middle School. He proceeded to the Teacher Training College in Kumasi, Ghana. Upon completion, he was posted to Tamatoku to teach in the Elementary school. He served as a Teacher for a couple of years before migrating to the United States. He graduated with a BSc Computer Science in June 1986 from Mercer University, Atlanta, Georgia. After graduation he worked with a company called the Abbey for 3 years. While in school, he worked as a cab driver in the Atlanta Metro area so it was no surprise when he started his own cab company in 1989 called the Star Cab. He owned that company for 5 years after which he decided to relocate to Maryland.

He moved to Montgomery County, Maryland in 1994 and worked for the Bank of America in Washington, DC as a Computer Analyst for a couple of years.  He survived a serious motor accident and fell into a coma while doing this job. He also had another health scare when he had a partial stroke some time after the accident. When he regained some of his strength, he made arrangements to drive a local cab in Silver Spring, MD. This afforded him the opportunity to meet and interact with many people from different backgrounds.  He went out of his way to help and show kindness to most people many of whom became loyal clients. Again due to health concerns he stopped working as a cab driver before becoming ill in December of 2017. He had a love for music. His favorite holiday was Easter.

He leaves to mourn, six children, Norvi in Ghana, Delove of Holden, MA, Justice of Durham, NC, Alex in Ghana, Faustina of Biloxi, MS and Earl of Pensacola, FL; 15 grandchildren; brother Noah in Ghana and sisters Awusi, Stella and Rose all in Ghana.

Philemon accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He will be missed by many.
